چکیده

A frequency compensation technique for the improvement of unity gain bandwidth (UGB) and power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of two stage operational amplifiers is presented in this paper. Performance of proposed op-amp is compared with classical miller compensated op-amp and op-amp proposed by G. Blakiewicz [13]. The technique exploits the triode mode operation of a MOSFET in the compensation stage which leads to the improvement in the UGB and Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR). Small signal analysis for these parameters is carried out and theoretical improvements are verified through simulations in cadence VIRTUSO environment using UMC 0.18 μm CMOS process technology.

Rail-To-Rail Output Op-Amp Design with Negative Miller Capacitance Compensation

Abstract—In this paper, a two-stage op-amp design is considered using both Miller and negative Miller compensation techniques. The first op-amp design uses Miller compensation around the second amplification stage, whilst the second op-amp design uses negative Miller compensation around the first stage and Miller compensation around the second amplification stage. The aims of this work were to ...

A High-Frequency Fully Differential BiCMOS Operational Amplifier

This paper presents a high-frequency frdly differential BiCMOS operational amplifier designed for use in switched-capacitor circuits. The OP amp is integrated in a 3. O-GHZ, 2~m BiCMOS process with an active die area of 1.0 mm x 1.2 mm. This BiCMOS op amp offers an infinite input resistance, a dc gain of 100 dB, a nnity-gain freqnency of 90 MHz with 45° phase margin, and a slew rate of 150 V/ p...

A Multistage Low Supply Op-Amp in 0.25μm CMOS using Modified Active-Feedback Frequency- Compensation

This paper presents the design, analysis, and simulated results of a three stage low power op-amp in a 0.25μm CMOS process technology. The op-amp overcomes the problems of cascading stages under low supply voltage by using modified active-feedback frequency compensation. This op-amp operates over a common-mode voltage (Vcm)from 0 to 0.6V, a supply voltage (Vdd) of 1.5V ±5%, a temperature range ...

High Performance Op Amp Design – Review

In a never-ending effort to reduce power consumption and gate oxide thickness, the integrated circuit industry is constantly developing smaller power supplies. Furthermore, in an effort to reduce costs and integrate analog and digital circuits onto a single chip, MOS devices are used in the weak inversion region or the subthreshold inversion region to minimize dc source power. A feasible config...

High bandwidth low power operational amplifier design and compensation techniques

The need for high bandwidth operational amplifiers (op amp) exists for numerous applications. This need requires research in the area of op amp bandwidth extension. The exploited method in this thesis uses a class of compensation called Indirect Feedback Frequency Compensation in which the compensation current is fed back indirectly from the output to an internal high impedance node, to extend ...
